Our History

Victory Christian Academy started in October 1987 with 9 students, and in the next term grew to 13 students.

The school was situated in Glenashley and as there were no playgrounds for the students, the school moved the following year to premises in Durban North.

The school was soon on the move again, this time to the Church of the Good Shepherd, where it remained for 2 years. During this time there was no warehouse and all PACES (curriculum providers) had to be ordered directly from the United States. The third move was to Anthony Road in Durban North.

In 1992 the first official swimming gala was held at the Durban North swimming pool and later 5 students attended senior convention (Christian school olympics) at Treverton. Enrolment now stood at 52 students and there were 8 members of staff.

On 2 October 1992, Victory Christian Academy moved to new facilities at 34 Ronan Road, La Lucia, where the school is today. On 16 January 1993, Victory Christian Academy was officially opened at Ronan Road with 72 students. The Preschool was opened in 1995 and building extensions were made.

Currently Victory Christian Academy and the Preschool boasts 227 children with the numbers increasing steadily every year. The staff has grown to 42 members, which include the maintenance, cleaning and gardening staff.
